Nursery Decorating - Your Creation and Joy

Nursery decorating can be a lot of fun, especially when you are expecting your baby.

If you have taken the time to sit down and think about your baby room decorating already, you have probably discovered that the task is actually much more overwhelming than you originally thought.

The reason is because there are a number of nursery themes for you to consider, each with their own variations and personal options.

Because there is so much for you to think about when considering nursery decorating, here is a breakdown of the items and decorations you may wish to include and make apart of your baby’s nursery:

* Nursery themes - Deciding on your nursery theme is the first thing you will want to do, before you even begin thinking about any other nursery decorating items. This is because your theme will often dictate the type of bedding, wall art and other accessories that you will wish to purchase.

Popular nursery themes are storybook (fairytales, "Winnie the Pooh", "Peter Rabbit", etc.) bugs (ladybugs, butterflies, bumble bees, etc.), animals (farm, dogs, cats, bunnies, horses, etc.), teddy bears, clowns, balloons and so on. Once you have decided on your theme, you can then proceed to design the perfect nursery for your baby.

* Furniture - The next step to your nursery decorating is deciding on the type of furniture you would like to purchase. Common pieces of furniture that you will often find in a baby’s nursery include a crib, dresser, changing table, rocking chair, or comfy arm chair with ottoman.

Besides the essential pieces of a crib and a dresser, other furnishings will depend on how much space you have in your nursery. Remember when purchasing furniture, solid wood is made with the most quality and is considered the best looking and most durable.

* Walls - When it comes to the nursery decorating of the walls, you will find that regardless of your theme, the chances are you will find matching wallpaper. If you can’t find wallpaper you like, you can always opt to have a mural painted with your theme, or paint the walls a desired color, and put up wall art or a wallpaper border to display your theme.

* Floors - once you have decided on how you would like your wall decorated, you can then pick out a soft carpet to match, or perhaps put in hardwood floors, and find a perfect fluffy area rug to match the theme or color scheme.

* Accessories - Popular accessories used for nursery decorating are ceramic lamps, nightlights, music boxes and so on.

* Wall Art - wall art is a big part of nursery decorating, and can be anything from paintings, quilts, wood carvings, plaques or ceramics detailed with the baby’s name or theme, etc.

* Bedding - When selecting bedding, you will most likely be able to find sheets, blankets, quilts and pillows that match the theme you have chosen for the nursery. Simply make sure that all bedding you purchase for you baby’s crib is hypoallergenic, soft, washable, and made with excellent quality.

Although you may have to work with a budget when Nursery decorating that doesn’t mean that decorating can’t be a fun and exciting experience for you. Use your imagination, and pick the theme that brings a smile to your face and cheer to your heart.

If your baby’s nursery makes you feel comfortable and warm, it’s a promise your baby will feel the same way.
