Kids Room Murals - A Fun And Exciting Experience For the Whole Family

Why can kids room murals add an interesting touch to your child’s bedroom that is unique, colorful and fun? Because ater a while everyone can become bored with the standard wallpaper and paint, especially kids.

Not only are child room murals a great way to create a new look that your child will take pleasure in, but it is also a fun family activity that everyone can take part in and enjoy.

You will discover that if kids room murals is what you are looking for, there are ways that you can create your very own masterpiece, even if you’re not Michelangelo, and without spending too much money.

The two most popular methods of painting kids room murals, besides hiring someone to do it for you, is either by purchasing a paint-by-number kit, or purchasing a projector and using transparencies.

The following is how you can create kids room murals by using a projector and transparencies:

* Obtain the projector - You can always try to borrow a projector from a school, or rent one from a shop. You can also purchase an overhead projector from any store that deals with business supplies, or online.

* Decide on an image - you can use any image your child desires, as long as it can be transferred to the transparency film, through either your printer, a photocopy machine or by tracing. Make sure the image is limited in detail; your best choice is a two-dimensional design or picture.

A great place to look for possible images for kids room murals is online, as they are easy to transfer. Once you have decided on your image, transfer it.

* Pick the Destination - You need to decide where on the wall you are going to place your mural. Think about the shape of the room, and compare this to the image that has been picked out. Don’t forget you can also use the ceiling for kids room murals!

* Put the Projector to Work - Set up your projector, and then use it to project the image on the transparency film to the desired location. Adjust the image by using the projector knobs, and also by moving the projector either closer or further away from the wall until you achieve the desired size of mural.

* Trace out Your Image - Once you have the image projected on the wall, trace out the image with a pencil. It is also a good idea to use tape to define any straight lines in the image.

* Choose Your Paint - When selecting paint for kids room murals, your best choice is interior latex paint, that can be purchased from craft, art or paint stores, and online.

If parts of your image have more detail, it is a good idea to use artists’ acrylics, also located at these same locations. Don’t forget that you will also need a variety of different sized paint brushes to accompany your paints.

* Time to Get Started - It is a good idea to make sure that the entire area designated for the mural is first painted the same light color to ensure all colors will blend evenly. As you are painting, take the time to stop every once in a while and stand back, so you can get a good look at the progress you are making.

Finally, once you are finished with your kids room murals projector and transparencies set, your child will have a fantastic wall mural to cherish and enjoy that everyone can be proud of.
