Easy Crafts Idea - Tissue Holder

Looking for fun and easy crafts to decorate your child's room? Try this tissue holder to add a little spice to an otherwise plain item. You can find the materials such as mesh, yarn, and needle at your local store that sells supplies for crafts.

For this craft for kids tissue holder, you'll need:

2 sheets of plastic mesh
Yarn
Mesh needle (large, fairly blunt needle)
Scissors
Box of tissues

Start by cutting the mesh into five pieces: four sides and a top. You can measure your tissue box to find the sizes of these pieces. If you don't have your tissue box yet, use these measurements to make your holder:
Cut your panels about one row of squares larger than the measurements to give the mesh box extra room to slide over the tissue box.
This is the best time to stitch your designs onto the panels since they aren't sewn together yet. Most stores that sell the plastic mesh have various colors, and if you get a brightly colored panel you don't have to fill in all of the area between patterns.
Plus the bright colors make this a decoration that will stand out in a child's room. The fun part about easy crafts like this one is making up your own designs.
Kids will really enjoy trying to make different shapes in the mesh, and it's all right to experiment because you can always pull the yarn out and try again.
For younger children, draw patterns on the mesh for them to follow. Make your designs all over the canvas if you want, but be sure to leave the edge rows empty for this easy craft. These rows will be used to put the panels together.
Once the designs are complete, stitch the box together. Take two of the sides and put them at a ninety-degree angle like two sides of a cube. Make sure the patterns are facing out for this easy craft project.
Tie a knot in the end of the yarn and feed it from the inside through the top, corner square of one of the sides. Stitch the sides together by wrapping the yarn around the edges where your sides meet. Do this all the way down the length of the edges.
Repeat this last step until all four sides are stitched together to form a box.
Next, the top is added in the same way the sides were stitched together. If your plastic box seems slightly uneven at the tops to this point, stitching the top panel on tightly will help fix this.
After the plastic box is complete, your easy craft is almost finished. Slide your mesh box over the box of tissues so you can mark where the opening in the top goes. Remove the box and cut out where you've marked.
Because the squares in the mesh are a little small, you'll probably have to use scissors with a sharp point to cut the opening. Also, try to cut along the edges of the small squares in the mesh so you don't leave any sharp spots in the plastic.
Now you're done with your easy craft! Put the plastic box back over the tissues, pull the first one through, and watch your easy craft turn into a fun and useful decoration.
