So, say for an earner of forty thousand dollars a year, that would translate into two hundred and sixty seven dollars. How decorative can they make baby rooms for two hundred and sixty seven dollars? Let's do some calculations shall we. A can of paint averages about $20 and you'll need about two cans. Curtains can add up and generally they cost more than the paint so we'll budget sixty dollars. So, there's one hundred on walls and curtains. Next is a light fixture costing thirty dollars, throw rug, forty, wall hangings (Mickey Mouse or Barbie in a frame) totalling thirty and there's another hundred for baby rooms. That's an easy two hundred dollars and we have not purchased any accent items or furniture. So, you can see how fast the dollars add up. You may be thinking to yourself "what accents should I have in my baby's bedroom". Accents add details to any décor. They are the finer elements of design. If you look at two identical rooms, one with and one without accents, you will instantly detect the difference between the two. For room décor elements consider things such as window valances, special items that will sit on shelves like figurines and vases, clocks and crafts, wall hangings like folk-art or something adorning the child's name, articles to hang such as wooden or fabric characters or ceramic figures. The nursery also needs to be practical for you. Make sure you equip baby rooms with the necessary equipment. Standard items usually include a crib, dresser and change table. Your lower back will thank you for choosing a change table that matches your height. There is nothing worse than changing your daughter's diaper for the forth time in two hours then having your back give out while you are getting her clean diaper adjusted. This next issue may be less important for our readers from areas of the country with moderate climates, but have you considered the room temperature of the nursery? Folks in Minneapolis will note that their infant's room takes quite dip in temperature in the winter, while our southern viewers will experience the opposite effect in the winter.
